The article offers the author's insights on making a dramatic dialogue based on the life of revolutionary woman Deborah Sampson for the event called Remnant Trust at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). She relates that theatre faculty member Shari Troy suggested her to write a play for the event and base it on the life of Sampson. She says that when she began researching the life of Sampson, she discovered that the revolutionary woman received an honorable discharge and a pension from the state of Massachusetts. She states that she considered comparing Deborah Sampson with women soldiers of other periods.
