The article reports that Eureko BV, the largest private shareholder of Poland's largest insurance company PZU SA, has filed an injunction against PZU for an abuse of minority shareholder rights. At the center of the debate is the handling of internal battles between parent company PZU SA and daughter company PZU Life by the Treasury. According to Eureko spokeswoman Lorrie Morgan, the company filed an injunction despite the fact that PZU SA did not follow the instructions of the Treasury ministry to vote for three members of the supervisory board of the Life company. PZU SA has managed to take control of PZU Life and has named Jerzy Zdzralka as its head after a battle involving the Treasury, PZU SA and shareholders. The deal between the Ministry and the shareholder became the first instance an initial public offering taking place by the end of 2001.
