A preprint abstract discusses the role of the innate immune system in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Post-acute sequelae of COVID fibrosis (PASC-F). The study examines the functional and synthetic properties of myeloid cells isolated from lung tissue of IPF and PASC-F patients and investigates the effects of a Caveolin Scaffolding Domain (CSD) peptide called LTI-2355 on these cells. The results show that myeloid cells from both patient groups have impaired phagocytic and synthetic properties, but treatment with LTI-2355 improves these functions. This research suggests a potential mechanism of action for the CSD peptide in the treatment of fibrotic lung diseases. [Extracted from the article]
