The article discusses the difficulty some mentally-ill people in the United States have in finding suitable care. A 2012 report from the Department of Health and Human Services said over half of the nation's 3,100 counties had no active psychiatrists, psychologists, or social workers. Particular attention is paid to the case of Regina Cullison, a mentally-ill woman in Leonardtown, Maryland whose efforts to find proper treatment ended in suicide.
